Is my first time buying home contents insurance and i would really appreciate "any advice, how does it work, What should I ask, Does Everything gets Covered in the house, I should" Keep the receipts of Everything I buy in a box of Claim In The future? Someone Will Come to do a year or similar inventory? What Is The average price to pay?

An insurer will work out a rough contents value for you. Some policies are "bedroom rated", which means that the cover is set at a certain value depending on how many bedrooms you have. Other policies are on a sliding scale dependant on how much cover you have. And some policies cover you for up to a set amount. An insurer will help you to decide how much cover you need. No-one comes and assesses the value of your contents. Do keep as many receipts as possible - it always helps in the event of a claim. Take a couple of photos of each room and keep them with your insurance policy. Note the make, model and serial number of large or expensive items such as tv. Make sure that you ask the insurer what their single item limit is (the max they will pay out on one item) and if you have anything valued above that limit get it added to your policy.£25 to £35 thousand is probably about the right amount of cover for an average property.
