There are plenty of companies on the internet that provide laptop or ipod cover for just a few pounds per month. However, you need to consider any excess that may apply, and check the policy exclusions. You may be able to get a basic home contents policy for not much more per month, so I'd check them both out and weigh up which is the better deal. Bear in mind that with contents insurance you would need to cover for "goods away from home".
