A friend of mine has Blue Cross Blue Shield-through history used in premium Florida. His Is A whopping $ 600.00 a month. He wanted to lower premium history and use history says he can not change history plan.He wanted to cancel insurance insurance history and His boss says he can not, Unless he fires HIM.
I attacked him it sounded as though history bosses ripping HIM IS off.He contacted Blue Cross Blue Shield And They attacked him His boss has The Right to load Any Amount he wishes. They Would Give Him No information about historical premiums and Referred back to HIM historical use.
Even my friend Does not remember if he ever Gothis paper to write policy. All The Links The Insurance Commissioner has not WORKED.
Can anyone out there tell me if it isn't true That It Is anyone's civil right to cancel insurance policy year and my friend What Might do next?
Sherilyn Mazariegos says...
If he has insurance through his boss, it's not HIS policy, it's his BOSSES policy, and he doesn't GET a paper policy.
The IRS says, that employees can ONLY cancel their participation in group health insurance plans, during open enrollment. So, if he doesn't die, or quit his job, his boss is right - he CANNOT drop out of the plan.
And it's not his boss ripping him off - it's the IRS ripping him off. These are TAX laws, that keep him from quitting his plan.
Yes, it's the IRS violating his civil rights.Good luck going up against THEM!!
