Camellia Daniele says...
dehumidifier in the basement will help reduce the amount of excess moisture that is adding to the mold issues.
figure out where the moisture is coming from by
1-take a piece of foil and tape it to the wall on all 4 sides with no gaps on the edges
2-leave it there for 48 hours
3-check the foil if moisture is on the room side of the foil you have excess moisture in the room
4-carefully remove the foil from the wall if the side that was next to the wall has an accumulation of moisture, you have water infiltration from outside your house through the walls
make sure the drainage is not directed towards the foundation of your house.
vent dryers to the outside.
maintain circulation in basement
seal any possible cracks and seams in concrete.
wipe any and all surfaces that have mold/mildew with bleach
a home inspector told me most of what we call 'mold' is actually mildew
